Jianping Weng, male, was born in Changshu, Jiangsu Province in August 1965. He is currently the executive director of the Clinical School of Medicine of the University of Science and Technology of China and deputy director of the First Affiliated Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China (Anhui Provincial Hospital). In 2007, he was appointed as the second-level professor and first-level chief physician of Sun Yat-Sen University, one of the first batch of Zhongshan famous doctors of Sun Yat-sen University. He has been supported by the National Outstanding Youth Fund, and has made outstanding contributions to the Ministry of Health (2008) and the Ministry of Education (2004).

 

He has been devoted to clinical, teaching and scientific research of diabetes and endocrine diseases for more than 30 years.

 

He is the first academic leader of the national key discipline of internal medicine (endocrine and metabolic diseases of Sun Yat-Sen University) of the ministry of education, and the person in charge of the key clinical specialty (endocrinology) of the National Health and Family Planning Commission. Former vice President of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University (2007-2015), in charge of discipline construction, scientific research, teaching and equipment, etc.

 

Currently serves as editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Diabetes Mellitus. Deputy editor-in-chief of Chinese Medicine Journal;

More than 130 papers have been published in academic journals (SCI) such as Lancet, British Medical Journal, Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, Herpetology, Diabetes, Diabetes Care, New England Journal of Medicine and Circulation, with a total citation frequency of about 5000 times.

 

In 2011, he won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award for "research and clinical application of new treatment plan for type 2 diabetes" (the first accomplisher). The international Standard Care of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in China has been issued for the first time.
